July 18 (Wed) Chip’s Date
Written by Mary on July 18th, 2007OK, so it wasn’t my date, but I got to play with a lot of dogs today.
What happened was this. Mary got home in the afternoon from the place that smells like where my dad spends his days. Mary mentioned the word drive so of course I got excited! Oh, happy day! I was flexing my paws and running to and from the front door. I had rested and slept all day long so I would have energy for whatever happened in the evening. I was ready to go, but Mary took forever to get ready though… Once we got outside, I knew to go to the cars, not start the typical walk route.
I wasn’t sure at first exactly where we were going, but we went to the Costa Mesa Bark Park. I spent the first 30 minutes or so greeting other dogs and checking out all the trees and tufts of grass. There were a lot of dogs there! It didn’t look like we were leaving anytime soon, so I started to look for other things to do. This one dog was very friendly and we wrestled for a while until I got bored. Well, I did a circuit of the trees again, then realized there were 10-15 dogs my size (well, I have more fur so of course I look bigger)! We all started playing and wrestling and just having a great time in general. Normally I don’t bother playing with other dogs, but today was fun. After about an hour at the park Mary pulled me away and we had to leave. After that, I was still hyped up and didn’t really want to listen to commands, but we didn’t do much. Sat in a park while they ate, sat by a table while they ate cake… I wanted some of something, but nothing really appealed to me.
In the car on the way home I was pretty tired. I didn’t whine at all, just listened to some piano music on the radio. Schumann is nice…
